Showcase of an incredible talented artist Andrzej Dragan. In the past he gained PhD in quantum physics, then he was music composer and in 2003 he starts to shoot pictures. Many of photographers consider his works controversial because of strong retouching of his photography. They say that his works are not a good example of photography. Personally I don’t understand why some people are so envy about his attempts when guy is trying to move small step forward in digital photography. Still one of the best photos (paintings?) I’ve seen lately. Strongly recommended.

VideoTrace is a system for interactively generating realistic 3D models of objects from video-models that might be inserted into a video game, a simulation environment, or another video sequence. The user interacts with VideoTrace by tracing the shape of the object to be modeled over one or more frames of the video. By interpreting the sketch drawn by the user in light of 3D information obtained from computer vision techniques, a small number of simple 2D interactions can be used to generate a realistic 3D model. (via ACoVT). Outstanding idea. Enjoy watching.

Johnny Chung Lee from Human-Computer Reaction Interaction Institute came up with an idea which allows head tracking with Nintendo Wii Remote and pair of sensors mounted on your head. It creates really outstanding effects with flat VR Display. Hope soon game developers will use it into some new productions. Check it out.
