Since I work at Ars Thanea over a week already, I decided to post some news on our blog :)
Here’s the new illustration I did, a personal work that I wanted to create for some time now. It took me a while to finish it, because I put a lot of time and effort in modeling and rendering the heads in Maya and than to put it all together in photoshop. I have used the Subsurface Scattering technique for creating both heads and rest of the artwork is a photo manipulation and a little digital painting.

I’m proud to annouce that we’ve been featured in the new Taschen’s design book named ‘Guidelines for Online Success’ of authors Rob Ford and Julius Wiedemann. Two of our earlier projects have been shown there, including XRS New Media and old version of Ars Thanea.
You can already check whole book online on Taschen’s website.
Big thanks to Rob.

Here’s the new illustration I did for a friend’s new album. The band is called Slick Corea and the album name is ‘Children of the Idiom’. Whole album is available for free download.
In this project each of 12 international artists, including Adhemas Batista and Justin Maller, had to make his own interpretation of one given song. My title was ‘Turbo Corea’. I tried to achieve speed effect but without using another shiny, colorful lines (yes - the ones that clients are so attracted to). After giving myself some time for rendering the idea I went into really experimental direction. And so here’s the result. Hope you like it.

GREAT shorty made by international team of the best 3D artists and developers in the
Blender community. They have been invited to come together to work in Amsterdam from October 2007 until April 2008 on completing a short 3D animation movie. The team members got a great studio facility and housing in Amsterdam, all travel costs reimbursed, and a fee sufficient to cover all expenses during the period which is a great thing.
Watch and enjoy! We did.

In May we launched our own hosting services. Hosting is based on high quality Dell equipment. We started with two redundant firewalls and five multipurpose servers (web/database). Four of those are Quad-Core based Dell PowerEdge R200 machines, plus we have one Dual Core AMD Opteron based Dell PowerEdge SC1435. Firewalls are running most recent version of OpenBSD (4.3) and our servers are running under Debian GNU/Linux. All of them are connected with web managed 48-port gigabit switch. Few photos above.
So, if you need good hosting services hit us with an e-mail.

Do you remember super-duper flex application called MyDeco Room Planner which we’re developing for over half of a year now? It was created by SpecialMoves with cooperation with MyDeco team and today they received FWA SOTD award for their effort.
Congrats, well deserved!
It’s a pleasure to be a part of the team working on such amazing project.

Nagi Noda has impressed us so much, especially with the animal shaped hair styles/hats that are totally mindblowing and are in fact like artistic sculptures.
She also has some other amazing projects there and you would miss a lot by not seeing it!
