Ideas are worthless if you can’t make them happen. Many of us believe that great ideas inevitably lead to success. Nothing could be further from the truth. Whether it is the perfect solution for an everyday problem or a bold new concept for a creative masterpiece, you must transform vision into reality for an idea to have value.
This book chronicles the methods of exceptionally productive creative leaders and teams – companies like Google, IDEO, and Disney, and individuals like author Chris Anderson and Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh – that make their ideas happen, time and time again.
Knowing the author, Scott Belsky for his amazing work with Behance network I have no doubt this book will be a must for every creative professional out there. Early reviews look very promising as well. Book will be in-stores on 15, April 2010, but you can already pre-order it on Amazon.
Can’t wait to get my hands on this!

Geon is my another application made with Processing. This time I wanted to create something biological, organic, something similar to underwater creatures. By the way I learned a lot of advanced OpenGL techniques. My first thought was to create a few tendrils moving around one mutual point. At the beginning I draw a 3D lines. Then I used vector cross product to prepare a mesh, which consists of 350 points that define shape of object in 3D. Read the rest of this entry »

Black hole is an application made with Processing. I have been working on it for few last months.
Making it I had to learn some OpenGL and remind my math backgrounds, but I hope it was worth it. At the beginning I wanted to create a dark sphere with dynamic glow. Using a OpenGL substractive blending and simple math transformation I created a resizing glow similar to cloud or nebula. [Turn on the speakers please]

Recently I’ve stumbled upon these seriously breathtaking concepts made by Stefan Martiniere. He worked for countless big and legendary movie productions. Looks like he is my new top favourite in this kind of stuff.

It’s at least awesome - the photographic work of Eva Padberg, including many exclusive clients, as well as the way it’s all being presented on a classy flash site.

Some of you are probably familiar with work of James Jean. For those who aren’t - James is an illustrator from California who uses mixed media for creating his beautiful artworks. My favourites are no doubt projects for Prada and Fables 77. He also runs a blog where he posts loads of his new work up there, so be sure to check it out as well.
Tremendous source of inspiration and a great bookmark.
